Video editing is not an everyday task for most people but people who deal with videos are often in a desperate need for a quality video editor. Competition is fierce on the PC market but the mobile market is still in development. Let's see if a mobile video editor can compete with the ones for PC.
KineMaster is a video editor for the Android platform. Its download size is around 75 MB and it's available for a free download, but you will have to put up with watermarks on your videos, intrusive ads, and the lack of many interesting features. The monthly subscription is roughly $5, but you can get the yearly subscription for $30 after a free, 7-day trial.
After creating your first project, you can add media from your device's storage. Unfortunately, you are unable to preview the media you are inserting into the video. The screen is divided into several parts. There is a circle at the right part with buttons including Media, Audio, Layer, and Voice. Here you can add photos and videos from your phone, add audio files or voice recordings, or put some text, stickers, or various effects over the video under the Layer tab.
There is a specialized store where you can get more fonts, effects, overlays and audio files, but most of the content there is for premium users only. The bottom of the screen is reserved for the timeline which you can use to scroll through the video and edit the duration and time of everything you add to your project. The timeline is a little difficult to manipulate at certain times.
After you select a clip from the timeline, new options appear for you to edit. You can easily add transitions, effects, animations, and many more. Projects can be exported at a quality of up to 4K. All videos have a watermark unless you pay for a subscription. The tool is quite powerful and it conveys many features without looking too complicated.
